WU Exploring Grant Funding Activities Business Email
Description
Consider the following case study scenario:
You work for the local health department. Your Director, Dr. Dana Foster, and you have been diligently looking for a potentially effective way to improve the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine completion rates. You both suspect that by focusing on improving the knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs (KAB) of the public health nurses about vaccinations, in general, and the HPV vaccine, in particular, you might be able to make a difference. You would like to have the public health nurses complete the educational modules created for the Collaboration for Vaccine Education and Research (CoVER) program. This program was initially designed for pediatric and family medicine residents; however, you suspect that by having the nurses complete this training, they will be prepared to explore and develop a vaccine completion strategy with their patients.
Dr. Foster would love to get this initiative off the ground; however, she would need seed funding from a grant. To this end, Dr. Foster has asked you to explore different sources of grant funding (public and private), which may be appropriate given the nature, scope, and need for the proposed pilot program. At a minimum, you should identify at least three (3) possible grantors that may be willing to fund the program; identify the funding requirements for each grantor. Finally choose which grantor you believe to be the best option to pursue and provide supporting rationale.
In this Assignment, you will prepare a business email and address it to the attention of Dr. Foster. An email is considered an informal means of internal communication and should be concise and limited to 1 page in length.
