presentationàconcepts, and (5) present conversationally (without reading off notes or slides)
conveying clear ideas and providing the audience with ethical information.
This assignment links to course objectives 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, & 10.
Points: The presentation, including PowerPoint slideshow, is worth 100 points, and the outline is worth
100 points.
Audience: Career-focused junior- and senior-level business students attending Florida Atlantic
University.
Your Role: Assume you have been working for 2-5 years for a (real) company/organization that
interests you. You may wish to choose the company you currently work for. Your company has
been invited to participate in the Business Showcase event sponsored by FAUàCollege of
Business. This formal event includes company presentations and networking sessions with local
business professionals. Since you are an alumnus of Florida Atlantic University, your boss has asked
you to deliver a brief, informative presentation that informs juniors and seniors in the College of
Business about your organization. To prepare for this presentation, you will conduct research on
your chosen companyàbackground, operations, and other relevant cultural aspects that you find
interesting and attractive about your company. You will organize this information into an outline,
which will serve as your presentationàfoundation.
Your Task: Follow the outline template provided with this assignment and develop a 5- to 7-minute
presentation covering the following information:
1. To demonstrate your credibility, in the introduction, be sure to describe your position, which must
be a real position within the company that you are qualified for based on your degree.
2. Briefly summarize relevant company history. Most of your presentation should cover current
operations: number of employees, locations (maybe target markets and revenue); products and
services; and unique culture and attributes. For culture and attributes, consider corporate social
responsibility, philanthropy, employee perks, community involvement, office atmosphere and
philosophy; in other words, what do you find interesting/appealing/unique about your
workplace?
3. Invite questions.
As well as your factual research, include real examples, personal experience/insight, and relevant
anecdotes to make the information interesting to your audience.
Part 1: The Outline
Use the outline template provided with this assignment for the specific requirements of your

presentation. You will use the direct approach since your audience is interested in what you have
to say.

cover; (4) provide support for each point (e.g., facts, statistics, authoritative quotes); and (5) end by
summarizing the key points and leaving the audience with a memorable impression of what you
communicated. Invite questions. See the Informative Presentation Outline template for details.
