You are encouraged to use the successful aspects of your E1 if appropriate and relevant BUT your revisions must be new additions, deletions, and enhancements. If you had good, recent sources you may continue with them.

You’ve:

? Identified and improved your revision skills

? Tried a new method of brainstorming or used a tried and true method

? Done additional recent college-level research

? Reached new or different conclusions or further confirmed your existing thesis

? Had practice creating and refining awesome thesis sentences

So now it is time to put it all together.

This is still an argument essay and it still requires recent sources, and of course it features your analysis derived from your research guided by a strong thesis statement.

This is not a narrative essay therefore “I” statements are not appropriate.

Also avoid background information!

If additional sources are needed please use the library link to find government and scholarly information for an additional perspective. I won’t require this but those who take advantage of the library databases will be noticed.

Your even deeper analysis of the required texts will be clearly evident.

You will exhibit your fluency with MLA format (7th or the new 8th edition) by flawlessly executing:

The way your paper is set up with regard to margins, header, page numbering, left side information, title, font (Arial) font size (12) and your entire document will be evenly double-spaced throughout.

Your in-text parenthetical citations will feature the correct information and will directly cross reference the first word in your Works Cited page, which will also be perfect.

Your job is to identify a viewpoint, find recent sources to support the viewpoint, and express the viewpoint objectively and specifically starting with a thesis statement and following with examples, details and specifics from sources and from your viewpoint that has resulted from reading a variety of recent sources.

As these are not narrative essays, the use of I statements and personal anecdotes are not appropriate.

Essays must be at least 5-7 full pages, not counting Works Cited page.
