The key parts to internationally expanding is understanding the cultures and norms of the country in which you wish to expand to. Countries vary greatly but to understand larger or more developed nations in a specific region will be vital to being able to expand further. Nations in close perimeter tend to have similar cultural norms.

For example, if Mayu was based in the United States, I would highly suggesting her expanding into Canada first as Canada and the US are very similar to an extent. Language is not much of a barrier when it comes to the United States and Canada. Therefore, that is one obstacle she can not even worry about. Other countries such as France, Germany or even Asian countries such Japan or China, Mayu would probably require hiring someone to work the language barrier which would in turn cost her more to start up.

Aside from using Skype, Microsoft Teams is also a very good platform to utilize when running a business. Microsoft teams can provide all the necessary Office programs to utilize in the business. MS teams also allows for all users within the business to all connect through li

Kate faced several dilemmas in her business. From reading about Kate and Mayu LLC, I think Kate needs to develop a business plan based on research and data. I would definitely hire a local legal representative to handle her business from abroad. She needs someone who knows the laws and the language.

Knowing Peru has a Free Trade Agreement with the United States is a bonus. Kate would also need to know and understand Peruvian local laws, payroll and etiquette. When she travels this will be of the utmost importance in person and online. Although she has competition, the one thing she has above most competitors is quality and a user friendly and appealing website.

I think based on her dilemmas and concern for her business, I think it would be best to devote herself full time. Kate would be able to accomplish more and have more of a hands-on approach in how she wants to develop her marketing approach.

By hiring a small staff of maybe three to four individuals she could cut costs on her traveling. With the use of Skype, Google Meets, Join.me, Zoom, Webex and so many others to choose from to conduct meetings once she has conducted interviews and hands on hiring. So many of these sites are free and would cut costs.

Kate can also utilize small business loan to help her get more established. She can cut costs by maybe investing in a she shed or her garage into an office/warehouse. The use of a financial advisor would help her to ensure her finances are accounted for and the global employee only has access to what is approved by Kate.
