UOG The Fixed Bed Experiment Lab Repoert
Description
Attached are the experiment summary and the guideline for the section.
Let me know if you have any more questions
I have attached some pictures of the apparatuses and an experimental approach that can help you with the methods section.
– Make sure that the CO2 sensor is set on the 0-100,000 ppm range
– Calibrate for total gas flow and CO2 concentration (in bypass mode)
– Regenerate zeolite
– To save time, temperature will be constant throughout the day
– Setting up logger lite
– The CO2 and N2 valves will then be adjusted to the desired concentration and flow rate in bypass mode keeping in mind that the maximum CO2 concentration sensor reading is ~9.6%
– Once everything stabilizes, the flow will be directed towards the column, starting the run and starting recording.
– Record the data until it reaches a steady value, approximately equaling the inlet concentration initially set.
– Store the data and end the test
– Repeat same steps at different concentrations with the same temperature to get equilibrium isotherm
– Shutting down, we will vacate the CO2 via the above procedure
– Slowly close the CO2 and then the N2 valves
We did 3 concentrations and 3 temperatures
1st day: 80C [2% (490 N2 – 10 CO2) – 4% (480 N2 – 20 CO2) – 8% (460 N2 – 40 CO2 ) mL/min
2nd 90C and 3rd day 100C with the same concentration
For the safety section
btw, those are some main points for the safety section
- delicate equipment
- high voltages and high pressure
- CO2 sensor sensitive
- high pressure temperatures
- fragile quartz glass
- don touch regulators
- don open the oven
- don touch the quartz tube
And for materials you can find a lot of information on zeolite 13x from the experiment summary
