I belong to the Generation X cohort which is known as the latchkey or middle child generation. This is due to many coming up in single parent and divorced households. Many of us spent most of the day without any supervision from an adult. When we arrived home from school our parents were still at work. Gen Xers may be referred to as whiners and slackers.Generation Xers are normally self sufficient with high aspects of independence. We are described as being able to balance work/life and also being resourceful. We tend to respond best to customer loyalty programs. We are more likely to make purchases if our favorite stores has discounts or coupons available so that money can be saved.
Student 2 : Caleb smith
Generation Z, also called Gen Z, is the generational cohort following millennials, born between the late 1990s and early 2010s. Research indicates that Generation Z is the largest generation in American history and constitutes 27 percent of the country’s population. Gen Z is known for being resourceful, independent learners who value diversity and inclusive culture and place a priority on well-being and mental health in the workplace. They are fiscally conservative with a keen focus on investing and income. Gen Z values justice and equity. We know it’s different from previous generations in some important ways, but similar in many ways to the Millennial generation that came before it. Members of Gen Z are more racially and ethnically diverse than any previous generation, and they are on track to be the most well-educated generation yet.
NOTE On a separate sheet Discuss the hierarchy or heuristics of the various segmentation techniques presented in Chapter 6. (Heuristics is a term meaning the process by which we make choices in our lives.) Which techniques are the best?
