Others post?In the 1981 film, Zoot Suit, directed by Luis Valdez, the film explores double consciousness in the film through the main character, Henry Reyna. The audience is introduced to the character, El Pachuco, who plays Henry Reyna’s characters consciousness but also acts as a narrator who guides the story along. El Pachuco is present with Henry during most of the film acting as his internal thoughts. In certain instances, Henry thinks for himself and brushes off waht El Pachuco is telling him to do. Henry faces many difficult situations throughout the film that are present to put Henry in an unfair and unjust scenarios. Henry is able to think for himself as well as look to El Pachuco to guide him. El Pachuco acts as a guide for Henry especially during his time on trial and his time in jail.
