Example:
Peer A’s post:
My favorite topic from this quarter was about workers stress. Worker stress is something very common in any job or profession. I still have not experienced working at a real job, which is why I thought it was very important for me to learn about. I was able to read and learn how workers stress can be reduced by conducting certain practices on yourself and/or in the organization. This could be such as, cognitive restructuring, taking time off, or even removing yourself from the environment permanently. I believe this will help me for when I have a real job and experience any worker stress as well. Not only will it help us that do not have a job, but obviously also for those that already have a job and are experiencing worker stress. It was a great topic, with great resolutions.
Peer B reply to A’s post:
Hi A,
I too enjoyed learning about worker stress. I feel like before this class I just identified it as “stress” , but the more I learned in this class about how work related stressors can add to your overall stress and pressure, I know that majority of my stress currently comes from my job! I am glad I got a better understanding of the difference between stress that comes from personal problems or school, and problems that are rooted in the environment of the workplace. I really like that I can take a few points learned in this class and apply them to my own personal life.
Peer C’s post:
My favorite topic we learned this quarter was performance appraisals. I did not know much about employee appraisals before learning about them in this class, and I found it to be very interesting I even wrote my term paper about it. I enjoyed learning about the 2 different methods of rating employee performance and learning why they are crucial to the workplace. I never realized how many different methods there are for evaluating employee performance. Before this class, I thought there was one good method that everyone followed but that could not be far from true. Honestly, I did not know that narrative employee appraisals existed, but they seem very interesting. I wonder how much people usually write and are they shared for other people to read as well, or just read by the employee being written about? I also liked learning about this topic because I realized how much appraisals aren’t prioritized in all the workplaces I have worked in the past. In the previous 2 fast-food joints I worked at, they never evaluated my performance as an employee. I do wish that more people learn about this topic, especially supervisors, so we can continue to pass on information about how crucial appraisals are to the workplace.
write one own post, and pick A or C(only one to write response post, remember this is discussion assignment, not essay, so more personal view)
