I’m working on a marketing discussion question and need support to help me learn.
Most marketing professionals might have kept branding intact and included the topic as an element of the promotion “P” instead. Regardless, branding is important to create a mental “short-cut” for consumers in the purchase process. A brand that is clearly differentiated from its competitors helps that “short-cut” to be memorable. Consider how Volvo’s point-of-difference around “safety” appeals to the segment of the luxury car market who are primarily interested in safety. Or, how easy interconnectivity among Apple products differentiates iPhone from its competitors.
