This research project is a comprehensive application assignment that ties in all aspects of the main
tenets covered in educational psychology. Within this project, each student will pool all applicable
resources to conceptualize an engaging educational experience for the audience which brings
together four major components into a GARP Reflection Paper (4-5 paragraphs max) and
Video Presentation (3 minutes max).
1. Journal Article Review- Find, read, briefly summarize (1 paragraph), then reflect upon a
recent (>2017) journal article that deals with a major issue/topic in the field of education which
pertains to any of the psychological implications mentioned in the class and/or the text. Devise
a catchy (hip, engaging, entertaining, and memorable) way to incorporate the main tenets of
the journal article into your Flipgrid presentation.

2. Podcast Points to Ponder- Based on the aforementioned journal article, listen to a podcast
that also deals with a major issue/topic in the field of education which pertains to any of the
psychological implications mentioned in the class and/or the text. Identify 3 points to ponder
and briefly elaborate (1 paragraph) on why you feel passionate about these 3 points and how
they correlate to the journal.
3. Theoretical Perspective Capsule- Select one of the following theorists to focus on for the
group research project. For this component you will write a brief summary (1 paragraph)
summary of the most prominent theoretical perspective posited by the selected psychologist
and how it applies in todayàeducational setting.

brief summary (1 paragraph) tying in 3 different standards (one per component) and
providing sufficient rationale for how each selected standard is applicable.

5. Video Presentation: Construct a Poem, Skit, Song, or Rap (NO LONGER THAN 3
MINUTES) through which you will create an engaging video presentation (physically
showing you) that communicates the gist of all 4 Components of the GARP incorporating
pertinent textual support and best practices learned throughout the semester.
