UCLA Personals Strengths and Weaknesses Discussion
Description
Hi, my
name is Landon Powell and this is my module six reflection
presentation. Um So for the first self assessment
test, my overall score on
listening skills is a 59 out of 75. So that’s a
little less than 80%
basically A C plus. Um you know, which is a
fantastic grade. So I would say
that my listening skills are fair or fairly good. Um
But there’s definitely
room for improvement. Um Looking back at my answers,
I think the main issue
that I have is that I sort of jumped to conclusions
or I start um sort of
the wheels start turning in my head before someone’s
gotten all their
points out. Um So I kinda need to work on uh getting
all the information in
the future before I start to pass judgment or um you
know, for my own
thoughts about what’s been said for the second self
assessment test. Um I
had a lower score for insurgency. Uh That was, I
think my lowest score and
my highest score was agreeableness. Um So because of
this, I in the future,
I need to probably attempt to be more vocal because
I had a pretty los
urgency score. So, um and then also I need to be
able to uh surgeon C is,
you know, kind of relates to discipline and, you
know, ability to handle
confrontation and things like that. So I need to be
able to discipline
people when it’s appropriate rather than just trying
to be friends with
everyone or, you know, coach them through things. Um
And then another thing
with high agreeableness is, um they have a tendency,
people with high
agreeableness have a tendency to avoid conflict or
to just sort of appease
people and let them have their way, also known as
accommodating conflict
style. Um So I need to work on being more open to
confrontation when it’s
appropriate and, you know, not sort of overstepping
the bounds there but
being open to confrontation because, you know,
confrontation has to happen
sometimes finally for the third self assessment
test. Um I got
participative for my preferred communication style.
Um I definitely would
agree with this assessment because I like to, um,
you know, when problem
solving we’re dealing with issues, I like to get um
as much input from as
many people as I can. Um And then also put my input
into it as well. So I’m
not totally relying on the input of others and I’m
not totally relying on
my own input. I like sort of a mixture of those two.
Um Excuse me, I didn’t
have any um answers for the autocratic or the
empowerment columns. So my
scores for both of those columns were zero. Um And
then my next highest
scoring column was the Consultative style. Um And
that this makes total
sense, I would say because I sort of in the gray
area between um you know,
autocratic, which is like absolute power, um sort of
like domineering and
then um sort of the other end which is just sort of
lays bare hands off. I
can’t remember what the exact column category name
was, but um I’m sort of
in the middle where, um like I said, I like to get
input from everyone
along with my own input. Um which sort of, that’s
the participative side of
things and then um consultative would be, you know,
asking other people
what they think and sort of supporting them. Um And
that kind of thing. Um
So, yeah, that’s my reflection for the self
assessment tests um in module
six. Thank you for watching.
