Drawing on material from the whole of the course, compose an essay addressing this issue. First, explain what the principal historical, political and social obstacles are (and, historically, have been) to generating democratic governance and robust economic growth in Africa. Then, describe which of these factors seem to have changed since the late 1990s in meaningful ways (or are in the process of changing) and what the implications of these changes are for the continuation of positive political and economic performance in the region.”
