Assignment Directions

Choose one of these primary or secondary air pollutants as determined by the Clean Air Act (sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds, particulate matter, lead, ground level ozone, acid rain, sulfurous smog). Here is an example of the infographic Download example of the infographicusing carbon monoxide (which you can’t do). For this air pollutant, you should describe two of each (put a short description for each) and include photos for each concept:

Sources of the Air Pollutant (how is it produced and get into the air)

Environmental Effects from the Air Pollutant (how does it affect the environment – kills trees, contributes to climate change (how?))

Human Health Effects from the Air Pollutant (how does it affect people – respiratory irritation, rashes)

Strategies to Reduce the Air Pollutant (either by a person (buy a hybrid vehicle) or a company (install scrubbers on smokestacks))

Generalized strategies such as reduce, reuse, and recycle would be confusing unless indicated how it connects to the pollutant.
