What implications does your policy alternative as stated below have for nursing or advanced practice nursing and how can nursing help to get it implemented?
Additional proposed alternatives for parents to consider sex health education for their children are participation and accessibility to the present technology by tailoring services for diverse students such as 1) peer education programs, 2) text-messaging, e-mails, and even Telehealth usage among school staff, students, and parents to fortify communication and education, and 3) adoption of contraceptive apps and condom availability programs on-site to enhance learning in sexual education (Briggs et al., 2021).
Improvements in clinic environmental and service experiences can strengthen interaction among students and facilitators to increasing care effectiveness. This has proved to be true among en, students from under-resourced backgrounds, and those who belong to groups that have faced a history of discrimination that has limited their ability to obtain appropriate sexual and reproductive health care in a non-stigmatizing way, such as the LGBTQ youth community(Briggs et al., 2021). According to Briggs et al. (2021), there can be changes in programs and operations for the youth to reach and promote healthy sexual engagements such as ncentives (cash, gift cards, movie tickets, or food), connecting students and parents/guardians to appropriate outside services, interchanging inquiries or stories contingent to sexual histories, changing the waiting room area to promote greater inclusivity, conducting targeted outreach, providing staff training, and implementing tailored services./em>
Technology, such as text messaging, e-mails, and even Telehealth, provides a valuable strategy, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, to communicate with providers, as it is convenient and affordable (Briggs et al., 2021). In addition, adopting a contraceptive app, which is often free of cost, would allow the acquisition of contraceptives, such as oral, rings, patches, or emergency contraceptives, without needing a face-to-face provider appointment that accounts for confidentiality (Briggs et al., 2021). This also is true for on-site condom availability programs, which may be more attractive contingent, particularly in school settings, where a young adult may be embarrassed to purchase. Contraceptive methods may be delivered to the home, available for pharmacy pick up, or provided freely in convenient locations.
These aforementioned should be adopted at the beginning and throughout a school year for education enhancement, delivery, and acknowledgment, hence, engaging in sexual awareness for successful interventions and outcomes, as parents/guardians forsee successful futures for who they care for by having the proper education, understanding of human sexuality, and on hand intervention for successful upbringings.
