Question Description
The TPP was signed in February 2016, but never implemented due to Trump’s withdrawal. Most do not understand the significance of this trade agreement among 12 countries that have one thing in common, they all border the Pacific ocean. The agreement promised to significantly increase the export of U.S. goods to these trading partners by eliminating many tariffs on those goods. Likewise, other members that have lower labor costs were expected to be the beneficiary of more jobs.
There has been much controversy surrounding the trade agreement and it was a major point of debate in the past presidential election.
