The information system produced should be of medium complexity level.  

It is anticipated that the final database will have  

• between 5 and 10 tables 
• a minimum of 4 queries 
• a minimum of 2 visualisations 
• the database that is created should be in a format that is easy to run,  MS Access 

with all necessary instructions. If using other software such as node-red all supporting  

flows and files should be provided too. 

Each student should identify an information system topic to develop, and also a source of data  

that can be used to populated the database. 

The information system must do the following  

• Store the data
• Process the data 4he raw data should be manipulated to produce summary information. 
• Visualise the data 4he raw and/or processed data should be visualised. 

The following actions should be performed

• Produce a relational schema (ie table details) for your database from your conceptual 

model.  

• Populate your database with either dummy data or open source data appropriate for your 

approved database idea 

• Normalise your database tables

• The data source(s) for your system 
• The user requirements for your system 
• The semantic modelling (EERD) of your system
