I’m working on a criminal justice question and need the explanation and answer to help me learn.

1 – Death Penalty

Is there ever a good reason the death penalty should be used in the American Judicial System?

State yes or no and why.

2 – Death Penalty II

In the past there have been convicted murderers [Gary Gilmore…] that preferred the death penalty than life in prison.

Is life without parole in isolation worse than the death penalty?  Is Life in prison “cruel and unusual” punishment?

3 – Justice

A convicted murderer is sent to prison for life without parole. While in jail he kills a guard unjustifiably.

Without the death penalty can there be justice or even a punishment?

4 – Punishment

Of the 4 main reasons for punishment which one do you think is the most important and why? 

5 – Explain what the death penalty is. What is the rational for the death penalty to be used and what is the rational for it not to be used.
