The question for this paper is the same as the weekly discussion question but with regard to several of the units: How do specific examples of art or architecture communicate important cultural ideas? Identify specific artworks from all of the units covered and describe how they communicate cultural ideas of their cultures. For instance, choose an artwork from ALL of the units to be covered. Relate all artworks to their culture. And compare or contrast all of them to each other – the goal is for your essay to work as a whole, not as a list of your weekly discussion questions answers cut and pasted together. Choose a similar cultural idea –for instance, how divinity is represented, or how power is represented, or how women are represented – and ask that question of all of the artworks.
