Discussion
As Mayu considers her international business plans, there are several key points she
should consider. First, she should research the foreign markets to fully understand the cultural
differences and customs between her domestic market and those abroad. Understanding local
language, etiquette, and customs will be vital for Mayu to build successful relationships with
potential customers in a foreign country (Kuemmerle, 2019). Additionally, she should look into
the legal implications of doing business in another nation including any taxes or duties that may
be imposed on imported goods.
Moreover, she must also ensure that her product is compliant with laws established by the
destination countries. Furthermore, researching the target market and potential competitors will
provide valuable insight into what strategies must be implemented in order to gain competitive
advantage over other firms entering similar markets. Finally, it is important to thoroughly
research and plan for any transportation costs associated with shipping her products abroad as
well as the potential extra delays due to customs inspections or other issues that may arise.
Overall, by understanding the cultural differences of foreign markets, researching legal
implications of conducting business in another country, evaluating the target market and
competitors, and planning for transportation costs, Mayu will be able to create an effective
international business plan for her companyàexpansion into new markets. Additionally,
understanding how different nations view customer service can provide a foundation to creating
lasting relationships that will result in repeat customers. In todayàenvironment of global
competition careful consideration must be taken to ensure success when expanding into new
markets (Kuemmerle, 2019). Ultimately, though, if Mayu takes the time to plan and execute her
strategy correctly, she can create a successful venture.
