Why did the public find the subjects, forms, and techniques of the Impressionists shocking?  

What are some key elements of the Post-Impressionist painters? How did their work inspire other artists?  

please provide a peer response for the below:Some post-impressionist painters wanted to highlight what they considered important such as the variety of colors, emotional brush strokes, and shapes. These Elements that occurred in their art caused many other painters to be inspired. Some artists such as Pablo Picasso, Pierre Bonnard, John Marin, etc. were influenced by these elements. With this being said George Seurat was the leader of the new group of neo-impressionist and the biggest influence on this type of art. Georges started the trend of brush strokes along with  Paul Signac. However, they became good friends because Signac was inspired by George. As did Camille Pissarro. The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh was an example of this.
