CSU Creative Composition Inspiration and Techniques for Writing Instruction Essay
Question Description
This project asks you to reflect on your composing process. Your reflection should include a discussion/description of your composing process utilizing your current and past experiences writing (including ENGL 105 assignments, work from other courses or writing done outside the context of the classroom) as examples for illustration. Half of this project should be dedicated to first-hand descriptions of your actual experiences writing to use as a point of reference. In other words, you should tell a story about writing something and discuss how it is or is not a good example of your ideal writing process.
Try to incorporate reflections on how reading fits into your composing process; how drafting and revision fit into your composing process; and an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of your composing process. Include at least one image in your draft.
Try to incorporate reflections on how your writing process changes and adapts to different rhetorical situations. For example, your process for composing an e-mail is likely quite different from your process used in completing a take home examination.
The purpose of this project is to give you an opportunity to demonstrate your awareness of your composing process and to reflect on this process with an eye towards improvement.
The audience for the project should be your peers in this class. One of the rhetorical challenges of such a project is to focus on your own process but frame the presentation in such a way that your reader will find it interesting and relevant to their own work.
