Do you think a professional development plan is important, and how do you go about deciding what to include in the plan?   

Write a professional development plan for your center. Describe how you will integrate community resources, in-house training, off-site visits, and early childhood professional organizations/journals into your plan.  You need at least one actual current training for each of the 4 categories.  Include the date and time of the training.List each of the 4 areas and search for an actual training that will fit under that category. Include the date and number of hours for each training.  All 4 areas must total at least 10 hours but can be as many hours as you want to include. Off site trainings are trainings that take place someplace other than your center and may be anywhere in the world. Community resources are limited to trainings in Palm Beach County held somewhere other than your center. In-house trainings are held at your school and must qualify towards in-service hours but may be conducted by your director or an outside person. You may not use First-Aid/CPR training for any of these categories. Look for new trainings.  The last category may be met by attending a professional conference or subscribing to a professional journal such as Young Children published by NAEYC.
