BHA Key Components of an ERP System Presentation

The President of a company has asked you to create a PowerPoint presentation for the Executive Management Team. The company is struggling with understanding how key components including software, applications, hardware, and the network interact with each other in an enterprise resource planning system (ERP).

The President has identified you as the knowledge base within the organization and asked for a presentation on a non-technical level so the Executive Management Team can easily identify the components of an ERP System and how other organizations have used ERP Systems. Conduct a literature search for two organizations that have similar characteristics or cultures that have implemented the same general ERP system. Include the following in your presentation:

• What are the weaknesses that were identified with the businesses that implemented an ERP system? What are the strengths?
• Why would a business decide to implement one type of ERP system over another?
• Are there industry specific solutions for an ERP system that could be implemented?
• What are the limitations to an ERP system?
• Explain how the software, applications, hardware, and network interact with each other and how one component supports another.
• How does the ERP system align with future business expansion requirements?

Note: Provide specific examples to detail your presentation. Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as “speaker notes” for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists. Support your presentation with at least five (5) scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included. Be sure to include citations for quotations and paraphrases with references in APA format and style where appropriate.
