DQ2- According to Maslow people are motivated based on a hierarchy of needs. The main physiological elements are food, water, and shelter. After having these prerequisites some individuals will look for safety and perhaps security. Individuals then seek out praise and recognition for a job well-done that is paramount to people’s self-esteem. The Maslow pyramid follows with self-actualization that individuals what to be applauded and commended from their supervisors (More, Vito and Walsh, 2012).

Humans will always want to feel some sense of security and a sense of appreciation, therefore if companies are not motivating their employees, then perhaps they will find unhappy employee on the workplace. Specially, police officers must be commended on their job. Front line police officers work hard, and their life is constantly place at risk.
