Amazon Cybersecurity Risk Management Scenario

Your company has been hired as a consultant specializing in risk management and cyber security. Your customer is Amazon – an e-commerce retailer that sells a broad range of products and services globally and is one of the world’s biggest providers of cloud computing services. The competition between Amazon and Microsoft in cloud offerings is continuing to be fierce. Imagine that Amazon is looking to develop new cutting-edge technology that will have an edge over its competition. The research will be highly guarded and protected. In recent news, Amazon was the subject of negative PR, with warehouse worker strikes due to unfair working conditions. Hacker groups, such as anonymous, Darkside, and Conti, have been actively probing Amazon networks and services in retaliation. Warehouse workers and other disgruntled employees currently have physical access to other facilities and buildings on campus, in different departments, and may join future strikes. From senior executives to delivery drivers, Amazon employees are continually targeted by phishing campaigns, as they all have company emails.
