Everyone please complete Interview 1 below and then choose ONE between Interview 2
and Interview 3. For your report of each interview, write a brief report of 1-1.5 pages
(single-spaced):
1. Interview two special education teachers (or educators). Ask them what they
believe regular classroom teachers need to know to accommodate students with
special needs in inclusive settings. In their work with regular classroom teachers,
what do they think as the teachers’reatest weaknesses when making assessment
accommodations?
2. Interview 1-2 regular classroom teachers about the accommodations they make
for students with special needs for ELL students who are in their classes. Ask
about their experience in gathering information for identification and setting
learning targets, as well as about the assessment accommodations they have
made. Compare their responses to suggestions in the chapter.
3. Interview 1-2 school division central office personnel (or another relevant person)
who are responsible for ELL students. What is the districtà(or schoolé
approach toward assessing ELL students? What kind of support is provided for
the teachers?
The length of the interviews may vary. They do not have to be long. You may only talk
with your interviewee for about 10-15 minutes, as long as you believe that you have
achieved your goal.
Also, you can interview the teachers/administrators individually or in pairs, depending on
their and your own schedule. You may also choose telephone/Zoom interview if thatübr>more convenient.
Finally, when you write up your report, you are expected to include at least two quotes
(verbatim is not needed) from each interview to support what you have found out and
learned. Without quotes, you will not receive more than half of the total points of this
assignment. However, you are NOT required to transcribe your interview(s)
