The second part of the critical analysis of your topic in wellness

The second part of the critical analysis of your topic in wellness

The second part of the critical analysis of your topic in wellness

Description

address the following rubric criteria:

Integrate reliable evidence from varied sources throughout your paper to support your analysis.

It is important to draw from a more diverse pool of perspectives from varied sources to support the analysis. This is different from the Citations and Attributions rubric criterion.

  1. Reliable evidence from varied sources should be interwoven throughout the paper itself, while citing and attributing sources will be represented as APA in-text citations and a reference list at the end of your work.

You will be evaluated on both criteria.

Assess at least two significant factors that could impact your topic, such as biases, beliefs, assumptions, and/or values.

  1. Determine factors that might influence societyàengagement with your topic. What might impact their perceptions of the topic or how they talk about it?
  2. Explain how at least one potential obstacle could interfere with the populationàengagement with your topic.
  3. In the previous activity, you identified elements of your topic that present opportunities for change. Now, determine a possible obstacle that could interfere with this constructive engagement.
  4. Recommend strategies for using this kind of critical analysis for meeting your personal and professional goals.

Consider the skills you have developed in the process of doing critical analysis as strategies for understanding your goals. How might those skills be used to address issues in wellness? How could they be used to address the day-to-day responsibilities or questions faced by yourself as well as practitioners in your field or discipline?

Mental Health: Critical analysis

2
Impact on various institutions
The perspective I selected in the previous module is the social sciences lens. Mental health
affects how people interact and communicate with each other within communities; it negatively
impacts how they interact with children, spouses, friends, and even colleagues. People with mental
health issues like depression will isolate themselves, disrupting their communication and
involvement in families and communities. Mental health issues result in poor quality of life and
homelessness among individuals, forcing political organizations to allocate more finances to help
feed these people. Poor mental health lessens the productivity of individuals’ productivity,
affecting their output in the workplace, which then affects the economy’s Gross Domestic Product
(GDP). The mental health of employees and other stakeholders affects the productivity of marketdriven institutions (Harvey, 2019). If staff’s mental health is not prioritized, they will be less
committed, and the sales and profits will decrease.
Specific elements that could benefit from change
A social approach would be more constructive in addressing mental health. A social
approach will look at how the issue of mental health affects communities, families, and society at
large. To address the topic of mental health more, surveys and interviews should be conducted to
determine people’s opinions and views on the topic. More awareness needs to be done to improve
mental health. Awareness is needed to help eliminate the different prejudices and stereotypes
(Fusar-Poli et al., 2020). There is still stigma in some communities, which can only be eliminated
by educating individuals on how to support those with mental health issues.
Benefit and challenges
3
Addressing wellness positively impacts individuals as it encourages them to make more
healthy choices and increases their productivity. People who focus on wellness ensure their mental
health is good; they eat healthy and exercise regularly. Critically analyzing wellness allows for
noting areas of wellness that have not been adequately researched and also recommends solutions
to existing issues in wellness. One challenging aspect of addressing wellness is the rate of
misinformation in social media that results to most individuals being misled. Social media has
much misinformation on weight loss, mental health, dieting, and other wellness aspects (Bucci et
al., 2019). Since people are misinformed, they end up making wrong decisions in wellness.
Social practices
Communication is positively impacted by wellness. Communication improves if one is
emotionally, spiritually, socially, and physically well. They can express themselves better and
maintain healthy communication in relationships. Wellness ensures that one is culturally aware;
they understand the traditions and beliefs in their cultures (Barry, 2019). This improves cultural
expression; individuals can partake in cultural ceremonies and performances. Addressing wellness
ensures that people in governance are held accountable for all their decisions.
