Scenario

You have been assigned to evaluate whether your hospitalàelectronic data dictionary needs updating to the most current terminology used for the data element !tient gender&or use in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Use the hospitalàcurrent governance standard of MEDPARà!tient gender/f Male, Female, and Unknown as a starting point. See Table 1. below. The evaluation aims to ensure the health information exchange (HIE) requirements are current for interoperability within the Memorial Hospital system and state reporting.
