Leadership Benefits
Different leadership styles are beneficial depending on the circumstances or the workplace setting the approach is applied. The authoritative leadership technique best fits quick decisions as it saves time, and only the leader gives instructions. Recent studies reveal that a leadership technique is most effective when leaders understand their staff and the environment they are setting the leadership approach. Leaders must be role models (Freaux & Pavageau, 2022). Thus, the need to naturally influence their followers without much friction among the team.
Least identified Leadership Technique
The least leadership style I associate with is the autocratic leadership technique. Under this style, the voice of the employees is ignored. Thus, the leaders$ecision is final irrespective of the consequences. The primary advantage of the autocratic leadership technique is that it is most effective when urgent decisions with the primary responsibility falling on the leader must be made. It saves time as the leader decides the direction the employees will follow concerning a specific task.
Needs of the Team
Learning about the team’s needs will significantly demand accurate and candid communication with the team about their feelings and desires. I will need to listen to the members/pinions and analyze the adaptability of the leadership style. After listening to the employees, I will also need to consider the goals and objectives of the organization. It will be the primary task as it is the sole goal of maximizing the firm’s growth (Oranefo, 2022). I will opt for an authoritative style if quick and timely decisions need to be made. It is quick, and the employees will follow as directed. Suppose the circumstances need critical analysis before deciding; I will opt for democratic leadership, where the employees are free to contribute ideas. Sticking to one leadership style is challenging due to the dynamic nature of business operations and the changing factors that influence business operations.
