Now, for Module IV, you are going to write a similar essay. Where you will analyze three (3) writers or public speakers with whom you DISAGREE.

The goal of your essay is to write an essay in which you will “analyze” the Rhetorical Strategies used by Donald J Trump President of the United States, Mike Pence current vice president of the United States and Boris Johnson Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party who have addressed issues within Covid-19 virus using different rhetorical strategies. Why do you disagree with these people? Are their arguments faulty? (Or are yours?) What kinds of rhetorical strategies do they use? Do they depend on any “fallacies”? Is their rhetorical style effective given their audience? How would you counter their arguments and opinions?

In the conclusion, you should compare every writer/speaker with the two others using Comparison/Contrast strategy and classify who was the best one and then the second and third one and include evidence that show why he was the best .

The essay will be seven (7) pages long (Plus Work Cited )and observe the standard MLA guidelines. Also, because you will be doing research, you will need to include a Bibliography/Works Cited plus In-Text Citations to show your research sources. (8 pages Work Cited included)

You have to follow this pattern:

A-Intro includes:

1-Hook: it should be a very strong hook that will grab the reader.(“Hook,” first impression, establish high level of emotion and drama)

2- Topic Context: You will talk in general about Covid-19 and present some statistics and how the pandemic is affecting people’s life.

2.1 – Library Context: you will talk about the history of the writing or speaking about the Covid-19 Pandemic.Also, you will discuss writer/speaker’s articles and books about Covid-19.Also,you can mention the places where some public personalities (others than the three personalities mentioned above) have given their speeches and the reasons why?

3- Expositional Thesis: you will cite the three personalities(Trump, Pence and Jonson ) that have discussed the topic and You should cite that you disagree with them . Also, you may include their articles and books or the places where they have given their speeches.

B-Body:

1-Bio / background of Trump.

2- Language :Why do you disagree with Trump? And what language Trump has used which did not convince his audience.

3- Composition (Trump) what are the fallacies that Trump has used

4- Storytelling (Trump)

5-Bio / background of Pence.

6- Language : Why do you disagree with Pence? And what language Pence has used which did not convince his audience.

7- Composition (Pence) what are the fallacies that Trump has used

8- Storytelling (Pence)

1-Bio / background of Johnson.

2- Language :Why do you disagree with Johnson? And what language Johnson has used which did not convince his audience.

3- Composition (Johnson) what are the fallacies that Trump has used

4- Storytelling (Johnson)

C-Conclusion :

1-You will summarize the writers overall writing style.

2-You should compare every writer/speaker with the two others using Comparison/Contrast strategy.

3- you will cite an argumentative thesis: who is the more effective writer/ speaker even you disagree with him ? and why ?

You can provide simple summary, give your opinion (agree with those personalities in some particularities ), you might add some refutation. Add something new related to covid-19.
