Reading Reflection Instructions
Each student is expected to be prepared by completing assigned readings prior to each class. After completing the readings for each week, prepare a 4-paragraph reflection on the readings, i.e., thought provoking questions and issues, opinions on the readings, comments on readings. These are to be typed and handed in by Tuesday midnight each week. The purpose of the weekly reading reflection is to ensure that readings are completed and carefully considered / reflected upon, while guiding your participation in class discussions. However, reflections should not simply be a summary of the readings (see prompts and rubric). The following two questions should be the focus of each of your reflections:
1. What were 3 interesting or provocative things you learned from the readings and why? Half of the paper, show that you completed readings and considered them.
2. How might the information you read be useful to you as a future teacher? Half the paper, how would you apply the concepts to your teaching?
