Creating and Editing Datasets in Excel1
This exercise is a follow-up to Module 6: Data Creation in Excel. In this problem set, we are
going to create a database in Excel for the historical data about seven major felony offenses in
New York City between 2000 and 2011. Please read the following rules carefully before starting:

The assignment should be completed in Excel and submitted as individual work through
the tab titled 2oblem Set 1/n Blackboard.
You may discuss the assignment with others in the class, but the work that you turn in
must be your own work.
Sharing and copying any Excel files related to the assignment will be considered
plagiarism.
The assignment should be submitted electronically by the given due date.
1. Create a table in Excel by using the data in Figure 1 on page 3 of this problem set. Save the
file by naming Problem Set 1-(your full name). For example, 2oblem Set 1- James Ingramote:

All column headers (i.e., field names) and numbers in the table should be centered.
The headers and all texts in Column B should be in bold.
The headers and records in Rows 4 and 12 respectively should be colored in colors of
your choice or in gray.

border type you want to apply.

Set the row heights of the whole table to 20.
Set the column widths of Columns C through N to 10.
Change the name of èeet 14o ajor Felony OffensesCopy the table including the table title and paste it into an empty worksheet. Rename the
worksheet as FO-Copy6. Copy the table in the FO-Copy7orksheet and past it into an empty worksheet by
transposing data from rows to columns as shown in Figure 2 on page 4 of this problem set.
